First Lady Michelle Obama celebrated the third anniversary of her Let’s Move Campaign today, which she launched to help fight childhood obesity. Joined by Education Secretary Arne Duncan, the First Lady spoke about the recent trend of schools dropping physical education classes. In fact only only 4% of elementary schools, 8% of middle schools and 2% of high schools currently offer daily P.E. and only 9 states require recess in elementary schools.

Studies show kids need at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day to stay healthy, but they are spending an average of seven or more hours a day in front of a screen, and only 1 in 3 kids are active daily. In addition to the health benefits of an active lifestyle, research indicates that regular physical activity can improve test scores, classroom behavior and attendance.

Also joining the battle will be Nike with CEO Mike Parker pledging resources in the form of athletic star power and dollars. Nike is committing $50 million dollars over the next three years to the program, which will also get a boost from stars like Serena Williams, P-Rod, Colin Kaepernick and more.

Every year the buzz around the NFL Combine surrounds the 40yd dash, and who’ll challenge Chris Johnson’s electronically timed 4.24 second explosion that remains the Combine’s fastest time ever (somewhere Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders are smirking). This year’s challenger was Texas wideout and Olympic long jumper, Marquise Goodwin.

Goodwin was blazing in his first attempt, with some scouts claiming a handtime as low as 4.17 seconds. Others such as Auburn RB Onterio McCalebb, and West Virginia’s Tavon Austin would also clock hand times of 4.25 seconds or better. Yet in the in end, Chris Johnson needed not fret, Goodwin topped out with the fastest time at this year’s combine with a 4.27. Leaving Chris Johnson atop of the speed pile for another year.

Perhaps fueled by the constant talk of who the heir apparent to Michael Jordan is, Kobe Bryant took matters into his own hands late in the All-Star game. Kobe decided to man up on Lebron, frustrating the superstar and even blocking two of his shots (to the crowds amazement). Check video of both blocks above

The Lake Show finished, people talking down on Kobe because of his age……….. After all of these years and titles people still pray for this cat’s downfall, and time after time he shows up majorly at one point or another. Take last night for example when Kobe drove the lane at the Barclays Center and showed two Nets defenders their place in the NBA hierarchy, which happens to be below #24. It’s definitely the dunk of this half of the season, check it out above.

After being under appreciated as member of the Houston Texans, WR/KR Jacoby Jones made his way to Baltimore to help shore up the Ravens receiving corp and kick return game. That move paid off in spades at last night’s Super Bowl in Jones hometown of New Orleans, as the young wideout made what could be called the two biggest plays of the night.

In the first half Jones got behind the 49ers defensive backfield, fell to the ground while catching a bomb. Only to get up and freak Chris Culliver out of his shoes on the way to the endzone in a play that totaled 56yds. Then to open up the second half Jones took a kickoff return 108 yards the other way for a touchdown. Check out both plays above and below

The Miami Heat visited the WHite House and President Obama yesterday, an honor bestowed upon them via their 2011/12 NBA Championship. The Pres being a basketball fan kept it casual while introducing Lebron James, letting him know “it’s your world.” True, we’re all just living in it. CHeck out the quick vid above

Lebron James and Dwyane Wade gave their best impressions of Michael Jackson and the early 90′s RnB group Shai at a charity karaoke event put together by Shane Battier. The event “Battioke 2013,” was held at Miami Beach’s Eden Roc hotel and highlights included the Heat duo giving their best renditions of MJ’s “Rock With You,” and Shai’s “If I Fall In Love.”
