Warsaw National Stadium By GMP Architekten
Wrapped in the national colors of Poland, Warsaw National Stadium will be hard to miss during the coming summer’s Euro Cup. Situated on the banks of the Vistula river, east of the Warsaw city center, the 55K seat stadium is a modern structure that will serve Poland’s capital city well as it takes on soccer fans from all over the world. Warsaw National was designed and finished by German (yet international) firm GMP Architekten, and will form the heart of a new sports park.
The stand was built with prefabricated concrete parts, and is sheltered by a steel wire roof that supports a mobile textile membrane cover. Exceptional site lines also highlight the build (should be the focal point of every stadium), as well as a hovering video cube above midfield. Check out pics of the build below
