In this day and age where the majority of popular pro athletes stay away from social and political issues all together, it’s refreshing to see a group of high profile players use their right to voice their opinion on a wrong. The Miami Heat took a stand via an image on Lebron James’ Twitter account concerning the Trayvon Martin case. In which a young man was followed through his own neighborhood by a neighborhood watchman, and ultimately shot and killed because he looked “suspicious,” i.e. wearing a hoodie. Community leaders are leading protest in the Florida city where Martin was shot, to try and have the shooter be brought to justice. Check out the image above
